Perfect spot in familial athmosphere away from mass
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AFamily Koch is doing his business with heart and soul. Everyone is very friendly and working hard to offer a nice time for your. This place is perfect when you are looking for a clean, cozy face to face location away from mass tourism.
When you are looking for a break away from trouble and you don't need gold and glammour this is perfect place. Be careful you might become addicted :)
In total there is place for around 35 people. In the basement you can use a little kittchen. Rooms are offered with beakfirst and dinner.You always meets nice and interesting other guests with and without kids mostly from Germany or Austria so far.
Location
The hotel is located about 5 min by car outside from Eisentratten and 25 min from Katschberg ski area. (Don't think you are wrong when you arrive the first time ;) It is a very quite sunny place.
Next shopping place is Gmünd (about 10 min by car) or Spittal (30 min).
When you want to go by plane, Klagenfurt is not far and Stefan will pick you up at the airport (is it 1 hour or less?).
Everyone is very very friendly.
In wintertime ski rental is included. Also a child care is available from a very gentle person. Two playrooms are available, one with ball pool, slide, play bricks and a smaller one with smaller toys like books, drawing things, cars ...
A transfer to the ski area Katschberg is also included in wintertimes. Stefan might also join you and shows you the best places to go.
When you come home you can use the sauna area (~ 4 persons or take a massage (separate).
Baby phone and cribs are available when needed.
Gastronomy
We got usually a 3 course menu for dinner with two alternatives for main course, at one day we got Kärtner Brettljausen and at another day raclett.
For breakfeast
Roles and home made bread with cheese, cereales, eggs, marmelade, sausage, bacon
Very tastfull and prepared with love.
For the kids a separate menu is offered (2 course + refill + ice comany)
Sport & Entertainment
Also in summertime this location must be also nice to do some nature adventures (hiking, biking, climbing ...) Stefan offers guided tours to the national park Nockberge as far as I know. There are some smaller lakes around but better ask Stefan for more details.
In winter you can go skiing in Katschberg or Speiereck. Cross country I don't know. Also there is a lake where you can go ice skating.
Room
The hotel offers different sizes of rooms, for 1 or 2 persons, also some family appartments with separate sleeping rooms for 2 adults and 2 or 3 kids.
The rooms are simple but modern, large and very clean with telefon (watch your kids whom they call ;) Some of the rooms have a balcony.
Tips and recommendations
Go to the Pritzenhütte on Katschberg by sleight but don't get stuck there.
Usually we are not going more than once to the same place - but this year it was the second time but definately not the last time.
