Very beautfiul hotel and professional management *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ALocated directly between Kalambaka and Kastraki directly on one of the cliffs. It was always 5 minutes walk each to both towns.Opened around 2008, brand new, clean with about 15 free parking places in the front parking lot.The hotel had rooms with two floors. However, it was managed very familiar. The owner's family appeared to be at the area around the clock and helped the tourists. Before us, two American groups had checked out, who had a farewell group photo with the owner couple, which probably tells quite a bit.
Location
If anyone chose a room with Meteora view, towered up about 50 feet away was one of the Meteora cliffs. Could not be more idyllic.
Combination of friendliness, professionalism and hospitality.Upon arrival we received a map without asking with the opening times of the monasteries. Even restaurants were recommended to us.A member of the staff accompanied us to the room and explained to us the air conditioner and how to use the insect screen. In mid June, there were no mosquitoes. The staff spoke English, the owner also spoke German.
Gastronomy
For southern European standards, the hotel offered a very good buffet. In between, there were cold drinks for fair prices served at the hotel bar, if the mini bar was not enough.Lunch and dinner were not offered. However, 100m away from the hotel there were restaurants.
Sport & Entertainment
Whoever wanted to take beach holidays should look around somewhere else. There was no pool there, but good conversations and beautiful paths up to the monasteries ...
Room
New clean room with air conditioner and a balcony (at least on the Meteora side, the other side we did not see)The only drawback: the flat screen TV had only Greek channels. Alternative: the rooms had free wireless internet connections, if anyone had their notebook there. But honestly, who needed international TV, with the view of the Meteora cliffs from the balcony? In the bathroom there was a hairdryer.
Tips and recommendations
The Meteora view room cost a few euros more, but the view was worth every euro. Those who prefer total silence, reserved the cheap category and then there were no sounds of cars on the local connecting road, from which we noticed nothing at night.
