Dellas Boutique Hotel

The hotel was located on a height set back from the road between Kalambaka and Kastraki. Both towns had taverns and stores(Kalambaka) and were within easy walking distance (5-10 minutes depending on pace). Opposite the hotel was one of the impressive Meteora cliffs, a bus stop was nearby.

The service was very polite, nice and helpful. All questions were kindly answered. Even excursion tips that do not relate to Meteora were willingly given. The hotel owner spoke German, as he and his very lovely wife lived for some years in Munich. Otherwise, the service spoke English, Italian and Spanish. The receptionist was either a very nice employee, or the owner and her husband, so that there was always somebody on duty.

The hotel offered a good breakfast buffet. Fresh products were mostly either homemade or from the area. There was a variety of jams, honey, yogurt, juices, bread, cheese, sausage, eggs and different cakes and pastries as well as tea and good coffee. It was immediately refilled, and the owner took care of every guest.Drinks at moderate prices were available at the lobby bar.There was no restaurant, which was no problem with the various taverns within walking distance.

There were no such offers. But there were very good and interesting discussions with the owners, and the area was ideal for a variety of activities.

The well-furnished rooms were well kept, very clean and included everything needed. Our "Deluxe Double Room" had one bedroom, a small living room and a bathroom. The bedroom had a king size bed with 2 night tables, a sufficiently large closet, where a safe was integrated, a dresser with stool, a wall mirror, two chairs and a bag rack. The living room was furnished with a couch, a table, a desk and a small refrigerator. In both rooms there were respectively stable blinds, with a remote control individually controlled air conditioner and a flat screen TV. Since we did not use the TV, we cannot say what programs were available. There was access to a very large terrace from both rooms, with a table and two chairs for relaxing. Since the room was on a corner, there was a wonderful view from both sides into the countryside. The bathroom was sufficiently large, with a bathtub and a hairdryer. The hand towels were new and were changed daily.The rooms were cleaned daily and also very thorough.

There were suggestions about excursions in the area. We took two such trips, and it was beautiful. Conclusion:We made a lot of effort to rate this hotel as objectively as possible, because we more than liked it there, and the owner couple's service was very cordial. We were individual travelers and were frequently in Greece (mainland and islands) and had stayed during this time in many Greek hotels. The Dellas for us was among the best accommodations. On this year's round trip we lodged at two 4-star hotels (Chalkidiki, Riviera Olympic), which were not at all comparable. We therefore recommend the Hotel Dellas with a good conscience.
