Week at Diamond Beach, Stalis
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ASmall to medium block of apartments. The building was in good condition and very clean. The apartments were basic but adequate (your don't go on holiday to stay in your room). The bar was pleasant and reasonably priced. There is a mini market which will meet most of your needs. We were there in early June and most tourists in the area seemed to be mature couples.
Location
Diamond Beach is located across the road from the sea and only about 200 yds from the beach. It is at the end of the beach road in Stalis and only about five minutes walk from the bus stop on the main road. There is a pleasant taverna across the street and the main centre of Stalis is only a couple of hundred yards away.
We were there very early in the season and found the service very friendly and helpful.

Room
The room was a reasonable size for a budget holiday, there was air conditioning, fridge and a small cooker. The apartment was clean and the balcony overlooked the sea .
Tips and recommendations
We considered Diamond Beach to be good value for money, it's at the quieter end of Stalis but still in reach of nightlife. The excellent local bus services are nearby and regular if you want to explore other areas. If you go into Heraklion remember the shops close through the middle of the day. As with anywhere here you should bring mosquito repellant with you.
