Djerba Mare Beach Resort

The beach was directly in front of the hotel, but wasn't cleaned often by the staff. Whoever wanted to shop, had to book an excursion to the next city since the shopping in the region was all very expensive.
Whoever didn't want to do that, could also buy typical country souvenirs at the airport.

The staff was very friendly, most of all against a few Dinar. Whoever didn't have the necessary small change, had to line up in the back, which was like that everywhere.

In this hotel there was really something there for everyone! Every evening in the main restaurant there was a motto evening. Otherwise there was, I believe but didn't use it, another restaurant with reservations.
The only complaint about the food was, that it usually had no taste, but everything was really on hand and had to be seasoned at the table to our own taste.

There were so many sport and entertainment possibilities, that it was almost annoying. Every ten minutes we were invited to participate in something. My tip, if one didn't want entertainment or sport, take the pool chairs in the back at the pool or beach. I imagined, it would be hard during the high season to have enough pool chairs at this hotel.

I knew, that the rooms would have a few flaws but so catastrophical as they were I hadn't expected. I often say that the people who rate the hotels poorly, truly searched for complaints, but here we fell over them.
In the bathroom of the the hotel room we saw mildew on the ceiling, the bed sheets had strange spots, the carpet had large burn holes and spots, we couldn't walk on the balcony without shoes, otherwise we got cuts from the dropping tile chips. The worst was the hall to the room, it had mildew on the ceiling and underneath the carpet too, since when it rained hard, the water ran down the hall. The smell of mildew was not really so enjoyable.
