Dorint Parkhotel Monchengladbach *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe first impression (from the outside: dark gray to black facade) is not good suspect. The second impression (lobby and reception area) can hope and is positive, however. The third impression (the room) confirmed usually unfortunately the first.
The rooms are very run-down to 80%. This makes the most of saggy mattresses, on sofas, the worn, faded/grays and have cigarette burns (the time 3-4 centimeter in size can be, with visible, but useless attempt a hotchpotch) fixed. Furthermore, about 30-40% of the room broken light bulbs on, so that the poor lighting in any case continue to be affected.
Also the tables are about 70% of the rooms in burns on.
Deficit with the cleanliness mostly in the bathroom clearly. There is a meeting room with droppings of last guest not excluded (for example, fingernails, hair in the bathtub/shower).
The bottom line here you have to be quite clear, that the price/performance ratio is not acceptable. 116 euro for a single night (periods also 230 euro!) is compared to the actual service rip off.
Further noticeable, which I only mention at this point are: expired date with yogurts, juices and Quark prices, the shelf life clearly crossed and no longer enjoyable and last but not least the availability of Internet access (5 Euro per hour! And then only with ISDN speed!-an indictment of a business Hotel!; but be warned: Internet is not available in every room!).
Having said that, however, the who feels he has the urge, this hotel has to offer, saying it was not warned! ☺
On the other hand, on a visit to this hotel would like, I would say, that the market in milligram 'arranged' and is very competition among hotels (as you for example knows from Berlin) does not exist.
Alternatives are so scarce! ☹
Summary: either close your eyes and through or just stay! D' village ☺
