In a gated community, which had also seen better times, but is still recommended. Beautifully landscaped. A lot of green, directly at the nature reserve Cap Lardier with many beautiful hiking trails. To the beach about 600 m. Unfortunately, the beach is quite small and is not cleaned. From the town of La Croix Valmer there is a regular free shuttle buses to the beaches of La Croix. Spar supermarket within 800 m. Large supermarkets in Cavalaire or Gassin (20 minutes). Very quiet, as Gigaro is at a dead end. We drove to Saint Tropez in 15 minutes, a trip that is really worth it.

The rental agency rejects any responsibility for the condition, although it is the contract partner. We have lost a day's holiday, because we had to wait for the installer/plumber. Shower and toilet flow didn't work right (vomid). A larger vehicle then had to come to eliminate the backlog in the rotten sewer. Landlord has not taken care of, although he/she probably resides in the vicinity (appears every 2-3 days for watering). In the whole time we were let alone. Afterwards we had to clean the patio traces of faeces. To compensate for this we are still waiting.

Community itself has no restaurants. The few restaurants in town (Gigaro) are very expensive by German standards. We self supplied. There is a pizza sale (across from Spar) that we recommend.

Although we have paid a price of 2,200 € for 2 weeks, the use of the (beautiful!) pool of the community was not included. As we have learned this would have been the case with other houses. So it rather depends on the owner if he likes to make maximum profit.

Although the house was large enough with a nice terrace, the furniture was often extremely sparse. No hooks for towels, in the bathroom no trash can, no usable bedside tables. Cabinets could not be used because of messiness. Same thing with the kettle, coffee maker, etc. We do not use. All the dishes we first flushed. The house itself is all wet and clammy. Ventilation was difficult, the only two screens on the windows were very old, partially broken (we had to repair them several times) and so old that fresh air hardly comes through. The doors could be open only during the day time, on evenings came the mosquitoes. For large people: beds are only 1.90 large, the double bed only 1.40 m wide. We had brought a bed extension with us. Speaking of beds: There were just cheap old bed slats on feet with saggy mattresses on it. All four we had back pain. All in all: four star price for 1 star amenities.

A holiday destination especially for nature lovers and people who like to walk, jog and hike. Not for small children. The communities Baie de Valmer and Mas de Gigaro are beautiful, but you have to accept wide walkways to the beach or shopping. Many then take the car, so there is a constant traffic within the communities. Anyone who wishes to rent something, has to start looking early (beginning of the year), because the houses are very popular and fill up quickly. Unfortunately also very expensive. There are also a number of German landlords. Here the probability is higher, perhaps, that you get a clean and well maintained accommodation. Those who like to make excursions: take the time and travel to the Grand Canyon du Verdon. The town Aubs on the way to the Canyon is definetely worth a stop!
