A very nice hotel *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel consisted of about 400 rooms. The area was beautifully arranged: a lot of green, little paths, many pools, many palm trees. Very nice to look at.
It was always clean too. The gardeners took care of that outside the buildings. The rooms themselves were always clean too.
We had all inclusive. There were plenty of bars where you could get drinks. Breakfast was totally rich. Salad, eggs, many, many sweets, rolls, bread, crepes, different sorts of marmalade, cold meat, cheese...everything available! Lunch and dinner were also served on buffets. We could always eat our fill here, and it was a good choice.
Guest structure: 75% Russian guests (+ Polish, Czech, Slovenian, Ukrainian guests), 15% German guests, 10% from other countries.
Location
The hotel was right by the beach. The drive from the airport took about 20 minutes. Hurghada could be reached in 15 minutes. El Gouna was only 10 minutes away. There were no great shopping possibilities nearby. A few stores were available in and around the hotel.
The staff was always friendly. But we couldn't well get along with German. English or Russian was necessary. That was a shame. We speak English well and could therefore well get along. But older people unfortunately often don't have the ability! Plus, as German-speaking guests were received here, somebody here should also speak German. That was a flaw, in our opinion.
Our room was cleaned every day. And when we gave a little tip, there were even some nice figures formed out of towels and pillows.
We didn't have any comlaints, so I can't say anything about the staff's way of handling them.

There was a main restaurant - with a beautiful view of the hotel area and the sea. Moreover, all inclusive included the possibility to eat in an a la carte restaurant once a week (2 Italian, Oriental, Asian, fish). I can't recommend the Mama Mia Italian restaurant. But the Oriental restaurant was great! Super delicious. (I have to say the following to some previous reviewers here: If you complain that you didn't visit these restaurants because you couldn't find them, you're just stupid! We asked once, and they explained it to us properly and easily!!!).
It was always clean in the restaurants. The service staff was always busy clearing the tables quickly and was always friendly. Especially Saleh! :-) For food, there were rice, beef, pasta, potatoes, vegetables, casseroles,... So, you always found something. And there were also plenty of pies to have for dessert. Very delicious!
Sport & Entertainment
There were lots of pools in the hotel area. Even a salt water pool on the beach. Entertainment was available too. But we didn't make use of the activities offered during the day. We watched the evening program a couple of times. Highly recommended: the Oriental night! Belly dance, a dancing dervish, etc.
The beach was artificial. It was some kind of "construction site sand" --> rough, hard, dark, sticky. There were concrete stairs down to the water. If you were a bit careful here and didn't jump down, you didn't slip and fall. (There was also a handrail to grab hold of).
You didn't necessarily need bathing shoes. If you were careful where you stepped and didn't have sensitive feet, it worked without them. The water was sandy! But you first had to walk about 100 meters before you reached the deep water. A little hike. There was a coral reef - but it was dead. It wasn't really suitable for snorkeling. Beach chairs, windbreaks, umbrellas, cushions and towels were included. The beach was always clean.
Internet was available in the hotel but had to be paid (I don't know how much it was as I didn't use it).
Room
The room was quite big, and we had enough space. The balcony was rather small, though, but it was still big enough to sit on it. The room was always clean. There were a TV, a safe, an air conditioning, a telephone, a fridge... Absolutely satisfying. There just weren't enough clothes hangers... Only 4 were available.
We had a beautiful view of the hotel area to the sea from room 3412.
The hotel was opened in 2008. Therefore, everything was in good condition.
Tips and recommendations
Tips: Phone calls in the hotel cost 2 euros per minute. You should come to dinner in the restaurant on time, unless you wanted to wait in a long line. Besides, it was really nice and I don't understand the many people complaining here. If you need 5 stars and luxury, you should book 5 stars and luxury. Right!
