Freund Das Hotel und Spa-Resort

The hotel was located in a very small location with not much around it except fields, river and forest. Whoever loved peace and quiet, was really at the right place here. The Edersee was easy to reach, we didn't try other excursion possibilities.

The friendliness of the staff, we found particularly noteworthy. Whether in the sauna area, at the reception or at the restaurant, we never had complaints about the staff. All questions were answered, the receptionists were very courteous and competent (for example we received 3 hiking and cycling route maps borrowed free).

We had booked the snow white package and were allowed one evening to eat according as we wished a la carte menu. From the hors d'oeuvres, soup, the main course to dessert, it was simply great. This option was available at an extra charge, if one could book the normal half board.
The buffet we used another night, also left nothing to be desired: A great appetizer buffet, a salad buffet, 3 main courses as well as a children main course and some desserts. We were not really impressed with the desserts, but we only used the buffet once.
The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, freshly prepared scrambled, fried eggs and omelets. Otherwise there was cheese, meats, fruit, vegetables and cereals with plenty of choice. Particularly tasty: The honey directly from the comb.

The sauna area of the hotel was fantastic. There were five different saunas, a great garden and a nice fluffy still room. In addition a large pool and whirlpool. We went one day with the hotel rental mountain bikes, that was very recommendable. For four hours we paid 5 euros per bike, and the bikes were really good. However the area was very hilly, so quite strenuous to ride.

We had a snow white room together, very spacious and modern furnished. In addition to a balcony where one could sit until late in the evening. It bothered a bit that the balcony was not separated from the people next door, but passed through.
