Charm and comfort by the lake in Weggis
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AHotel Garni-completely refurbished to a very high standard in 1999/2001-bed & breakfast but with other small meals and refreshments available.The hotel has a small secluded courtyard garden right by the lake, where breakfast and other refreshments can be taken, and from which easy access to the water is possible. Free internet acces for guests. Guests during our stay were mainly Swiss and German.
Location
The hotel is close to the shops and restaurants in Weggis as well as the Schiffstation. There is a public car park next to the hotel where short term or longer term parking is possible and there are other parking places in Weggis including a multi-storey park about ten minutes walk from the hotel.It makes an excellent base for exploring this beatiful region.
Herr & Frau Gunther run their hotel themselves with a small staff of two (one part-time). They are very friendly and welcoming and are happy to spend time talking to and helping their guests. They both speak very good English and it seems that nothing is too much trouble. Frau Gunther cooks light meals in the evening. The rooms are very comfortable with all necessary services of the highest quality and are kept spotlessly clean. Everything runs very smoothly and efficiently.
Gastronomy
We only took breakfast but this was always very good and generously provided, and with personal service from Herr & Frau Gunther, who are extremely attentive and sensitive to the wishes of their guests.
Sport & Entertainment
The majority of these facilities are not applicable to this small hotel but the lakeside courtyard is a wonderfully peaceful place to relax. The condition of the public areas (garden, dining room, etc) was first class.
Room
The rooms were modern and beautifully fitted, with all necessary comforts, including TV, telephone, bath/shower/WC, balcony overlooking the lake, bathrobes, bathing towels.
