My favorite hotel in Switzerland
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThis was a small hotel where my husband and I immediately were made to feel at home. The room was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the lake, we slept with the doors to the balcony open listening to the sound of the lake washing up on the rocks and would wake up to a wonderfully prepared breakfast buffet out on the terrace. Most of the guests were older, from other countries in Europe. The owners of the hotel were very friendly and helpful at all times.
Location
We could easily walk to restaurants, shopping and hiking locations and the city of Lucerne is just a short drive away. Once parked for the evening there is no need to get back in the car.
The owners of the hotel spoke English, so communicating was very easy. They advised us on many things that we wanted to see in the area.
Gastronomy
I think the breakfast buffet was the best that we encountered in our travels, breads, croissants, homemade cakes and preserves, yogurts, cereals, meats and cheeses just to name a few. Empty platters were replaced promptly, and coffee with hot steamed milk was a bottomless supply!
Sport & Entertainment
There is internet access available, and a fitness center within walking distance, also hiking trails just down the street.
Room
The room was super clean and comfortable, the bathroom had plenty of room and a beautiful shower, a hair dryer and bathrobes available. A built in safe is in the armoire, but we felt very secure at this location. The best part of the room was the two doors leading out to the balcony overlooking Lake Lucerne.
