Almost everthing you could want from a hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe went to the Grand Hotel in early June and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The whole time from the very quick check in, being driven up to our rooms to the way everyone came to say goodbye when we were leaving was fantastic. The hotel is on a fairly steep hill so you need to be able to walk up it. There are 3 outdoor pools, one is a quiet pool if all you want is to relax, one is a kids pool and the other is the main pool where the Animation team made us all feel very welcome from the first day to the last and got us involved with lots of new games and activities. The area immediately surrounding the hotel does not have much in the way of bars but it is only a 15 min walk into Stalis or a short (5 euro) taxi ride into Hersonisos, which had a better standard of nightlife. Evening entertainment is provided by the animation team 6 nights a week and although these are not professionals they do put on a good show. The food in the restaurant was always of great quality and there was always plenty of it but the buffet did stay fairly much the same most nights with mostly international dishes, some more Greek would have been good. Service in the lobby bar was a bit slow but the cocktails were always very well made when they did arrive.
