More glitter than gold *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AAccording to the catalog we had high expectations of the hotel but as soon as we arrived we saw that the hotel was in the approach path of the airport Heraklion. We couldn't get used to noise for the whole 2 weeks.
Location
The hotel is in a remote area, so a rental car is recommended. Unfortunately, there isn't any pedestrian access to the adjacent promenade.
The rooms equipment seemed slightly outdated, despite the up-grade. The door to the terrace could not be closed and also the vent in the bathroom didn't work. The flaws were fixed despite several complaints. Cleaning did not accord to a 5 * standard. For example the cockroach I killed in the bathroom on the second day was only cleaned away 3 days after that.
Unfortunately it rained for two days and almost all hallways were under water due to the open construction.
Gastronomy
We had booked half board and found that there was only little variation. Also the selection of specially at dinner was clearly too small. The drinks at dinner were not included and were served to ridiculous prices.
Sport & Entertainment
Only two small bays, beach with pebbly large stones in the water. Bathing shoes!
Room
Due to power outages the air conditioning was constantly not working.
