Pure dream holiday *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ASince October 2007, this hotel has developed positively. The gardens and beaches had been developed further and the rooms and outside areas were finally totally finished. It was by far the most attractive hotel in the Grecotel chain. The food on offer had also improved considerably. There was lots of guests from Eastern Europe there and many families with small children. However the complex was so spacious that nobody disturbed each other at all.
Location
We were a little torn. The beach belonged quasi to the rooms and thus was 6 star and indeed it wasn't just clean but there was great service too. The airport was about 20 mins away by taxi, but there were no places to shop unless you went for the £1 shops in Gouves, which was 15 mins away. The hotel couldn't do anything about this, but because of this only 4 stars.
Just perfect - the staff were natural and friendly, eager to help to the point of silliness, no matter where they worked. One example was that the staff offered fresh fruit and water free to the hotel guests on the beach without even having to be asked. 5 stars.
Gastronomy
Both the main restaurant as well as the a la carte restaurants (Mediterranean and Asian) were great. The breakfast and evening buffets fulfilled all of our wishes. There were far more drinks on offer than in the average place and probably about right for a 5 star hotel. The snacks at the pool bar were tasty.
Of course, the prices were definitely inflated and too expensive. To charge the equivalent of £7.50 for a 330ml milkshake with normal vanilla ice cream was shameless. For this reason we took away a point. The cocktails in the bar were lovely, but the great atmosphere counted for double here.
Sport & Entertainment
The hotel offered football fields, tennis, a fitness room and a great pool. We just had one week's beach holiday and unfortunately can't give any more detail than this. All of the facilities were kept in great, clean condition.
Room
The rooms were fitted with modern technology and were well designed. There was a flat screen TV and DVD player and otherwise there was nothing that you didn't find there! The rooms varied in price, naturally, and you could read a more detailed description in the catalogue. We were really impressed by our room.
Tips and recommendations
There was nowhere to shop, so rent a car. We already knew this from our visit in 2007 and for this reason had just planned a week of swimming and sunbathing. If you like films and music, you could take your own CDs and DVDs to use in the rooms. If you have the chance, join the privilege club for Grechotels, which is free but will treat you to som nice surprises. We have a silver car already and there have been no downsides to it. Conclusion: we'd love to take another relaxing holiday next year in this great hotel
