Lovely traditional guest house *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AAn absolute highlight for us were for us during our second week in Greece the Meteora monasteries. Therefore, and also another reason we decided to leave the Pilion rather good luck and went on our way to kastraki, the dörflichere town beside the tourist Kalambaka, the for vacationers also offers more. After we but rather looking for peace love are on holiday, we were looking for a place to stay for a night, that not located directly on the main street. Through a note sign we stumbled upon the place called "Petrino" Sotirou. The hotel is located in the old kastraki, the former village square. Take a room in this house is guaranteed no wrong decision. The rather small, traditional stone building house with a red façade you are right at the foot of outside of one of the Meteora rocks. The picture that here we had, was really traditional. An old Greek sat in front of the house on the stone bench. A picture as you know it from photos. We stayed from the vehicle and were immediately greeted in greek. Despite the language barriers this lovely lady showed us a room which was right next to the front desk. On entering this place felt very comfortable. Then the view into the room, the right next to the front desk. For me in the first moment an easy shock, it should very unusual and I would have thought, ok, but could be very loud. The door opened and we are in a very pretty room ( the room "Holy Spirit) with heavy dark wood, flooring, closet, ceiling, bed ( circa? 160 X 200), desk, armchair, an old chest, all in wood and just amazingly beautiful and comfortable with a touch of luxury. At the end of the bed a white fluffy Flokati, on the bed a plush ceiling and pleasant Pölster. An icon on the wall. A look at the bathroom, warm colors in terracotta tiled floors, a cooler, toilet, a shower with a shower curtain, nice sink, mirror, a central heating (also in the bedroom). A bathroom to feel comfortable and surprisingly large. Outside the windows nice white curtains. screens, isolated windows and shutters. Not to mention the small TV, but we didn't use it. Further there was a small Gästekühlschrank with Eiswürfelfach with juice and water for the guests, including you understand. My first thought we couldn't afford guaranteed. A view of the price tag in the room € 80 , - per night in the low and € 100 , - in the high season incl. traditional breakfast. Also here we lucked out and got the room, it was already 18 hours and here one thought, better than that a lower price, the room is empty. But also 80 , - for two persons for this room in this location more than adequate. As the prices of the other rooms look I can't say. We were lucky to get this room, the other rooms were already occupied by and for the next nights were full. Overall there are five rooms in this old thick walls lies. In 2 of the rooms has a fireplace and another a jacuzzi bath and one has a small balcony. In the upper floor are three of the room, the via the old wooden staircase leads up. There is also a very cozy sitting room for the guests. The house itself is, if I remember correctly, in 1865 , and three years by the family very tastefully restored, keeping an eye on it, that everything was original remains. This was very clean, probably you need nothing else to mention. The Hauseigentümerin, we met a bit later, speaks very good German and was very friendly and helpful. For me, is pure Greek hospitality. We were greeted the coffee and a glass of wine after we got the both not drink we juice, tea and a glass of water. Also we were given a small cute Schmankerl the old Greek living the mother, the cost. Delicious, I can't say more. We were presented with a bottle of house wine. The breakfast room and dining room is downstairs, which includes a nice fireplace and our own kitchen. There are some games and a television. This room also is about heavy wooden starway, by a Falltüre down. Here you feel that you are also 24 comfortable. From here, then we had a door of the hotel's own small garden with seating. After it was quite cool, we decided to make it comfortable inside. The only negative in this house is the heavy wooden floors, you can not isolate. So if you have the misfortune and as we had a waiter a renter right, the with Schlapfen in the late evening tramps over it and a supplemented by the room has Hustanfall, you should rather room on the upper floor. Other than that, it is in the house very quiet and also the location itself is very quiet. When we moved back to our room in the evening, was paid attention that it at the front desk the work is completed and this place is not disturbed. The next morning get up, delightful showers and the smell of the breakfast nose. In the morning we were then from Maria? The Hausperle friendly on greeted in Greek. The breakfast traditional Greek: home-made cakes, homemade Schmankerl like a Teigtascherl filled with feta and a Art strudel with rice and nuts Zimtgeschmack filled with a fine. In addition homemade pears-apple jelly. Fried eggs from their own hens. Tea, water, hot chocolate, juice, bread, butter, honey, everything was very good and more than adequate. This place is not for people who like action, but for people, very special, traditional nice, cozy and romantic break. If you had a room in such a beautiful house, should better but book early. Basically I needed nothing about this hotel, because when I went back to the hotel's own website at home in hindsight I saw, everything was just right with the reality.
