Hotel Achtis

This is not situated near the beach. The beach is through the village and then under a steep cliff..so if it's hot, you really need to want to go there. The pool area is lovely with lots of much needed greenery. You need to find the shade though, so in the peak season you may be advised to bring your own shade or get a bed early. The village is beautiful and totally unspoilt. There are lots of restaurants to suit most tastes and not a 'fast food restaurant' in sight. At night, the traffic stops which is good as this is an old village not made for vehicles. A few good shops and if you want the tat then get a bus to the nearby tourist traps..far enough away not to trouble you. Fine for young children, but the older ones might want that bus.

Superb staff. The owners Husband and wife, greet you and good to literally say goodbye and wave you off when you depart.
Another couple, English husband and wife make the team of cleaner and gardener. They work so hard, it makes you feel guilty.

There is a basic continental breakfast and they will cook anything you want for an evening meal if you want to stay 'in'. There are usually specials for dinner and a lunch menu. Entertainment is bar and restaurtant based in the village. None on site.

There really is only the pool and bar/breakfast/eating area

Superb. Get a suite if you can for the large balcony and the tub.

Whilst there is 'internet connection' this means you have to bring a laptop. There is no PC to use.
Mobile reception is fine. Take reading material. Music is played around the pool so if it's not your thing, bring your ipod. Casual clothes are fine.
