4 Star Hospitality in the Italian Dolomites
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ATastefully decorated, comfortable individually styled bedrooms, the hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. Public rooms reflect the impeccable taste of the owners; Christian & Helene. Christian & Helene, along with their children and excellent staff can always be relied upon to make a stay there perfect.
Location
Ideally situated for an easy walking or a more strenuous hiking vacation, it's easy to get up high into the mountains from here. I'm not a shopper but, Brunico and Lienz are pretty local and have excellant shops. Innsbruck Airport is pretty close but, for those travelling from afar, I would recommend combining a trip here with a short stay in Venice or Verona.
Staff are very friendly and helpful and speak a wide variety of languages. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily, towels changed whenever you require. Laundry service available.
The local hospital has an emergency department which is very efficient and most staff are fluent in English, German & Italian.
Any problems (complaints) are handled effectively and immediately, with the guests needs foremost in the hotels mind.
Gastronomy
An a la carte restaurant and a main restaurant, used as a popular place to eat by people from a wide area. Helene is an award winning chef producing excellant cuisine, typical of the area, Tyrolean. The bar is cosy, well stocked and popular. Prices are similar to the UK.
The atmosphere in the restaurants is often bustling, a lovely atmosphere for eating with friends or alone. Tipping isn't compulsory, however from the service you receive you will want to tip.
Sport & Entertainment
With a nice pool, a Spa area, Sauna, Steam Room and a well equipped gym there's plenty to keep yourself occupied. A local music night and a descreet once a week disco punctuate a week there.
Room
Well equiped rooms, some with balconies. All rooms have a TV, minibar, telephone and a safe.
Quite an old building that has been redeveloped with safety and cleanliness in mind.
Tips and recommendations
Late May and June brings the spring flowers and melting snow. Autumn there is gorgeous with lovely autumn colours and the smell of woodsmoke. Summer is busy but, good fun.
Not a cheap hotel but very good value for money.
