Good hotel but pay attention to the tricks.

"Just one Km from the port"; it is indeed one Km from the port of Aigiali but most ships that arrive in Amorgos deport passengers in Katapola port which 27Km away! The hotel says nothing about transportation, a friendly driver will wait to pick you up but during check out you will find out that they charge transportation 10Euros per person!
"Bus station right outside the hotel"; there is indeed a bus station right outside the hotel but buses stop by every 4-5 hours! This a tinny detail that the hotel forgot to put on the web site. Practically they are not convenient and you have do at least the one way by taxi. Best choice, rent a car with 25Euros per day and enjoy the different beaches of Amorgos
Although buses do exist their time table is not synchronized with departures and arrivals of ships and therefore you cannot use a bus to go to the port for your departure or arrival. This is a dark spot for the island and not the hotel in particular.
Distance to the beach: there are 2 beaches relatively close (800metres away) but the hotel will not tell you that it is a significant downhill to go the beach and a torturing uphill to come back (specially at 15:00 with temperatures close to 40!)
Location
Excellent view, the Egiali bay does not have something significant to keep you there. For night life you have to budget visits to Chora (15Km away) or enjoy yourself with traditional music at the Aigiali hotel offered by the son and grand child of the owner of the hotel...Very "professional" performance!
Staff's friendliness: Excellent, 5*
Respect of guests by hotel management: Very poor, 1*. Let me be specific: We stayed there for 3 nights. The second night we slept at 4:30 in the morning because hotel management decided to host a wedding while the hotel was occupied with other guests as well. I went down to the reception at 03:00 and complained, other guest did too. No bother, the party and loud music continued like nothing is wrong, at 04:00 again I went to complain, nothing. God bless a French guy who thretened to blow the party off himself and the music stopped at 04:30

Nothing spectacular but relevant to the status of the hotel (3*)

No Kids club but very clean swimming pool (maybe due to limited guests at this part of the season)
WiFi internet access free of charge at the lobby of the hotel
Room
The hotel has been expanding the last years so there are blocks of different age and decoration. We stayed at the oldest bulding but it was OK. Balcony with fantastastic view to Egiali bay, minibar with just a bottle of water but this is no problem as hotel staff was always helpfull and kind to satisfy guests' demands.
Tips and recommendations
Always ask weather there is a wedding scheduled during your stay. Greek wedding always go together with long-lasting parties (and we do not want to change that!) but it is a responsibility of hotel management to decide whether they want to make money by organizing wedding parties or treating guests. Both of them they cannot!
Very important: If you want to rent a car (I reccomend that for at least a day, distances are not prohibiting and you will enjoy different beaches of the island and the fantastic monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa), rent it directly with the car rental offices and not through the Hotel. The car rental office was charging 25Euros/day and hotel was offering the same car from the same agency for 45Euros/day (for the dificult task of making a local phone call!)
