Perfect location, a bit old *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is a high rise with 28 floors from the year 1928 . It was already a bit older, but at the New York everywhere the normal condition and standard. Originally thought than apartment hotel, so that the rooms have a small kitchen with stove and large refrigerators. The hotel there is a bar and a restaurant attached to very chic and highly recommended. All in all, it was clean and in good order. Unfortunately very noisy, but thats NY. A hotel that has no specific strengths (apart from the location) or main weaknesses, it is on par with the New York standard.
Location
Perfect location! Right across the street from Madison Square Garden on 7th Avenue at 31st street. 5 minutes on foot from the Empire State Building, and 2 minutes from Macy's, 10 minutes' walking distance to Time Square. Directly under the Madison Square Garden is a major train station for the subway and trains (34 Penn Station). Keep all trains and all important links walk past here. Just across the street and you are at the hotel. The Perfect location for exploring the city. In the immediate surroundings there are many restaurants and cafes, for any budget.
Depends on the individual people from. We have friendly and professional staff as well as unfriendly un grumpy people. Overall the service was ok and up to the usual standard.
Gastronomy
Very nice bar and restaurant adjacent to the lobby. Ideal for day end with a fine drink or on the night life after. If you liked, you could have a breakfast. But it is not worth it, which was around the hotel within 2 min dozens of cafes, in which you can have breakfast. Highly recommended is the Cafe Europa right next door in the hotel Pennsylvania.
Sport & Entertainment Unused
Room
Typically American. The beds were good, the cleaning of the room. Otherwise everything somewhat moldy and worn, the curtains are not been washed for years. For New York standards the rooms are very spacious, enough closets are available, the air conditioning worked. Unfortunately, the rooms were very noisy, but that is in New York like that everywhere.
