Hotel Albatros PALACE Resort & Spa

The location is great. Just 15 mins from the airport and on the beach. However if you go out the front of the hotel there's not much there (just a main road, other Albatros Hotels and desert).

I hired a taxi to take me to some local shops and he took me to a perfume shop (much much cheaper than perfume shop at hotel) and a bazzar selling everything from jewellery to pipes. Again very good value. We worth the £15 the taxi driver charged me for the transport and his advice.


We also did the boat trip around which included snorkelling around 3 islands. This again was brilliant value and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We also enjoyed a fab day riding camels, donkeys, quad bikes and spider cars in the desert.

As already mentioned the staff were EXCELLENT and all spoke very good english.

My husband needed to see a Doctor very late on Christmas Eve and a doctor was at the hotel available to see him immediately. Again the service was superb and he felt confident he was in safe hands.

The food was brilliant, it catered for our fussy children (who lived on pasta, pizza, rice, chips, fruit, pancakes, bread and ice-cream) and for both myself and my husband who like a good variety of things and were never bored (we loved the Italian and Asian). Breakfast was very good with freshly baked breads, eggs made to order, fruit, yog, pancakes, cereal (with even a choice of skimmed milk). The beach bar and foodcourt also offered a good choice. The local beer and wine were extremely drinkable and plentiful!

The pool is beautiful with a great layout so people with noisy kids (us) could be well away from those looking for a quieter holiday.

The sunbeds were extremely plentiful and comfortable. The towel service was the best I've ever known at a hotel. You could change your towel whenever you liked (more than once a day) and there was always plenty of fresh clean towels.

Our children didn't really join in the kids club because they made plenty of friends and enjoyed playing in the pool/sea with them. They did enjoy the kids mini-disco every night and we would go along and watch them and then stay for the 'entertainment' which was usually all over by 10pm.

The only area for improvement would be the entertainment. The shows were OK the first week but disappointedly were repeated and our second week was the same acts as we'd seen the first week. A 14 day rota of entertainment would be highly appreciated. The main bar had a singer each night. This was one man with a microphone and a tape recorder of songs he sang along to. This would have been better if a band or pianist had played as it seemed a bit karoke.

I also thoroughly enjoyed massages, facials, manicures and pedicures in the spa. This was extremely good value and I would highly recommend.

We stayed in a two-bedroom family room. This was easily to nicest, most spacious hotel room I have stayed in before. It was immaculately presented with a superking bed in the main bedroom and two doubles and one single in the second room. The bathroom was great with a walk-in shower. Our luggage was taken to our room and we were greeted by a large fruit bowl.
