Nice hotel with Ticino charm *

However, the lobby and restaurant in new modern look, the rooms on the other hand, still have old bathrooms with nostalgia factor. The arrival with the car should be, because the hotel as in the area around the lake Maggiore usual, on a hillside high above the lake in a small village ' depends' and those who prefer to travel by public transport rather difficult and long-drawn-out should be. We missed the signs of parking, but then nearby the car parked, where no contrary 'private' warnings were. The hotel is run by the owner family was very nice and personally managed. Is in the Ticino yes Italian spoken, all family members but spoke German quite perfectly. We had a double room 'lake view' on the top floor, with a view of the lake. The view was great of course. The room had the typical rustic dark wooden ceiling, the furnishing but was rather modern with white armchairs and a new flat screen tv Sony bravia. There was a safe in the room, no mini bar. The bathroom was rather old-fashioned with the flowers-tiles, but it was big enough and had a huge large walk-in shower with shower separation. The only serious drawback was, that the shower only a two minutes walk to water, to hot water at all. Whether it was because of the travel month December, we can't comment. The beautiful outdoor swimming pool we could, of course, because of the travel time not. We only ate breakfast in the hotel. The service was adequate, but there was only the most necessary. No wonder, however, apparently only two rooms occupied at the time we were there. We ate once in the evening in the restaurant. The food was very good and nice prepared, but the prices were very high for a three star hotel. We felt very comfortable in the hotel and would definitely recommend this hotel, you should probably already in the summer, in order to be able to use the pool and terrace with great views, very nice.
