Hotel Aldemar Knossos Royal & Royal Villas

Transfer time to the airport about 30 min.
The environment is not very nice. The next large place is Chersonissos.
Not very nice, but it is OK for shopping.
There are a lot of trips offered by the travel agent. However they are not that cheap.

All the employees, roomgirls etc. are very kind and friendly.
Most of them also understand somewhat German, you definitely go along pretty well with English.
However we felt ourselves being rather twitted by the hotel management.
Our complaints were placated and were not taken serious at all. We were even threatened.
AI-guests are not welcome and only tolerated.
We think that the Aldemar-hotel chain takes the selective overbooking and then allocates over their hotels.

At least we were pushed off as AI-guests in certain bars and restaurants.
Of course always there, where there were no programs/livemusic.
The food was moderate and in no way suitable for 5 stars. In the mornings the butter is already deliquescent at the buffet and the food is hardly cooled, so that everything flows together to the mush. The lunch- and evening buffet was always the same and not good at all. Not so much is offered for the children. We have seen the french fries for the first time only after 10 days and that also because one guest has complained a lot. We have missed any kind of grilled stuff. Everything of the meat and fish was always mixed with some kind of sauce. You always had to get the drinks yourself, mix and etc. That is not also what you expect from a 5 star hotel.

There are enough amount of lying chairs and umbrellas on the beach. The beach is rough pebble. There are large stone surfaces inside the sea. Well bathing shoes are reasonable.
The pools are totally Ok. However you have to get yourself a lying chair already early in the morning.
It could have beem somewhat cleaner and a lot of chemical stuff is also inside.
We didnt like the children care.
The animation itself is not that special.

Our room was totally Ok.
The hand towels were changed daily.

In no way recommendable as AI-guest. The hotel is not designed for that.
During our stay there were definitely 150 AI guests over there.
Everybody had booked the Aldemar Cretan Village and for a short period of time they were transferred to the Aldemar Knossos Royal Village.
