Five star accommodation, food and service
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe had originally booked adjoining rooms in the hotel, but were upgraded to a villa with a semi-private pool.
The accommodation was excellent with comfortable beds, plenty of seating and ample space to store our clothes, etc.
There was a choice of restaurants in the complex and all of the food was delicious - we tried a lot of new things and all of them were properly cooked and tasted great. The Cretan specialities were a particular highlight, as were the local wines and soft drinks, although the ouzo was more powerful than expected!
The staff were friendly and helpful - for example, our housekeeper noticed that the boys' sofa bed was a bit rickety and arranged for it to be replaced by two single beds without us needing to say anything; and our flight home was not until the evening of our last day and the hotel let us use another room from our normal check-out time until 4.30 p.m. at no extra charge.
The beach was not very nice, but it did not matter, as there were several pools to choose from, none of which were crowded.
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. I can honestly say that it would be difficult to find fault with any aspect of our stay.
