Worth every penny for the view!
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AQuite a large hotel, chalet style with balconies. Pleasant if unremarkable decor but loads of space. Not many guests when we stayed - mainly older couples.
Location
Absolute peace and quiet in an elevated position at the upper end of the village. Best of all, the south-facing rooms (worth paying a small amount extra for) have the most stupendous views up the valley and of the Jungfrau mountain - you won't believe your eyes. Shops, station and restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Electric 'taxi' will pick you up from the station if required at no extra cost.
Owner was discreetly available 'in the background'; she speaks English and was helpful with queries. Check-in efficient.
Gastronomy
Good breakfast buffet in spacious dining room.
Sport & Entertainment
No sauna etc, no PC available for guests' use (although the owner said that she has ordered one, and she did offer to let us check emails on her own computer).
Room
We had two rooms on the third floor - one with bathroom, one with shower room. The one with the bath was a huge room; both were well furnished and equipped. Both had south-facing balconies with that amazing view.
Tips and recommendations
The hotel is pleasant and comfortable - the view is what makes it an exceptionally good choice.
