Hotel Alpinus

From Faro airport it was about 30 km, the transfer time was so pleasant short. The distance to the beautiful Falesia beach was 1.5 km (noisy speedometer), is a bit more, than those offered by the tour operators. In the immediate surrounding there are several restaurants and a mini market for shopping. It is quite expensive (pack toast €3 ), so you can get the rental car to Lidl or plus in Albufeira go. There was no disco. A rather quiet area. From and to karaoke in the Hollywood bar next to the hotel. The hotel itself was also entertainment every night, but we never were there. No problems with mosquitoes etc.

The staff was always friendly. No German skills were available, but no problems communicating in English. Rooms were always clean. There is a courtesy bus direction Albufeira. A laundry service is available (self-service)

There is internet in the lobby. Fortunately, there were no activities at the pool, but always a little music from the band. Pool area was clean, the water significantly warmer, when the sea. At the pool bar reasonably priced. The beach was perfect, 6 km long sand, super nice, no stones in the water ... But the water was nothing for Frostbeulen ... very cold. The beach (as all beaches in the Algarve) the blue flag for water quality was excellent. You can rent pool chairs and umbrellas, but we were in the supermarket bought our own for 8 euros. No shower on the beach. Access via some steps, so a bit of a problem for accessibility. Above the beach there was a beach bar, also here moderate prices (canned beer 1.50 €, 1 l sangria 8.00 Euros). Snacks.

The apartment was huge. I would have to guess about 50 sq. m. It has a full kitchen (with toaster, kettle, etc. you could excellent even bekochen), a bedroom, living room, and large bathroom and balcony. Air conditioning available (one in the bedroom and one in the living room), but we didnt need it. Also safe, TV, telephone, iron, ironing board available. The chairs on the balcony were a bit uncomfortable, we just out the Wohnzimmersessel. great! . Our room was on the back of the hotel facing the parking lot, so very quiet. the front of the hotel on the street I don't know how it will behave with the noise.

Car is a must in the Algarve. The little tourist west coast with the great beaches and small village. Tip: Odeceixe. Had a room for two nights in Praia de Odeceixe, Pensao restaurant Dorita. Since April very nice German owner, double room for €45 (www.Naturalmenteportugal.com ). Otherwise Polvo food in St. Luiza, boat trip at Ponta de Piedade. Great beach: Albandeira in Carvoeiro. The restaurants in the town itself can we Casa Falesia (delicious cataplana, very nice service), ageda di Costa (delicious things, good house wine) and L'Agosteria (fresh fish). O'Pinhal was more the character of a cafeteria, noisy and everything was tiled, no possibility to sit outside in the Olimpico (from the hotel located toward the right) I saw the second time the stomach.
