A nice break but nothing special
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is a basic service hotel with no gym, no spa, one very basic swimming pool, basic activities with nothing like wave runners, wind surfing, para sailing like you would find at a 4 star in Mexico. The hotel is fairly small only 350 rooms so the crowds were not to bad at meal times however the staff was hit or miss, some were very pleasant and some were very sour. You quickly learned who to avoid if you wanted decent service.
Location
The beach is close by and fairly nice, but there is practically no beach services as you had to go back to the resort to get a drink. There was a nice stretch to walk along with plenty of shopping in the local area and only an 8 Euro cab ride downtown were pretty much all of your needs could be meet. Airport is close only 20 minutes and the standard excursions are available through the tour agents but the hotel provided basically nothing.
If I was going to run a hotel the last person I would have in charge at the front desk is a Russian. Rooms were showing there age and are basic even though we had an upgraded room, nice balcony and sea view but from my experiences you don't see many 4 star hotels with a 13 inch TV, pay 25 Euro's to use the safe and a lock on your door about the same as a closet lock still using a key and only one per room even though we had 3 people in one room and 2 in another.
Gastronomy
Food was the biggest suprise, it was very good. The wine was of a low quality as per all all inclusives and the alcohol they used to make drinks was obviously some local rock gut as everything tasted the same with the same horrible racki after taste. The restaurants were clean and well maintained and there was plenty of food. However if you choose to sleep past 0930 you cannot get anything to eat until lunch at 1230.
Sport & Entertainment
Simply there was one women who did water arobics twice a day, one water polo game a day and beach volley ball and that's it. The pool water was clean but they didn't was down the deck area as there was wasted drinks there for days that no one bothered to clean up.
Room
Small room, basic equipment but the fact there was no iron bothered me as men had to dress up for lunch so without an iron I had to wear wrinkled pants and shirts. Beds are small, bathroom grout is cracking, no fan in the bathrooms, air conditioning worked well, TV was a joke, no minibar and pay for the safe.
Tips and recommendations
There is WI-FI internet but they don't tell you, they lead you to believe you have to pay for it on a slot machine style computers at a cost of a Euro per 16 minutes. This hotel is over flowing with Germans and Russians. There are parts of it that are very nice and hi class and there are parts that are in need of work, I would not rate this as a 4 star but a 3.5 at best. We still had a could time as we ate well, hung out at the pool and beach all day and the weather was great.
