The Hotel with a rich past but no future
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThat famous Bachmair hotel.. The dream destination some 20 years ago. Rich and Aristrocratic. Perfect decoration for some old movie.
Unfortunately its time has passed. Its still a Bachmair but with a trace of "aging" on its face. Seriously needs reconstruction.
Defintely worth staying a night or two (not more) - just to say you stayed in that legendary Bachmair am See.
Location
The Hotel is located just in 1 min walk from Tegernsee, you can take a boat to famous Beer Restaurant where Tegernsee beer is served.
In summer there is a nice public swimming pool and a sand beach.
But the best part is go hiking. There are several routes up the mountains, one is approx 1.5h walk to the top - there is a small Church with a great viewpoint on the lake, thats unforgettable. Oh and a beergarten on a way up (or down) - but carefull, staff is not polite.
Very polite, professionaland friendly staff.
Gastronomy
The best part? Breakfast. Its unbelivable, unforgettable - everything you could dream of and even more.
Oh and staff - very helpful and polite.
We had also a dinner included. It was a buffet. Neither me nor my husband was impressed - there were one type of meat, fish and chicken but nothing vegetarian apart from potato and salat! extreamly disappointing for this kind of hotel.
Sport & Entertainment
The famous spa area is nice but needs reconstruction
Room
Beds & furniture are old - and they do smell.
TV had some 5 channels, but remote control was soo dirty, it was really putting off.
our room had a view on a parking lot, but the room opposite has a dream view on a garden!
Tips and recommendations
The most guests in hotels were those funny old aristocratic ladies in fur coats, pearl necklaces and Chanel jackets - for a young couple it was bit boring and uncomfortable!
