Neat hotel area with poorly sound-proofed rooms *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe grounds of the hotel are quite spacious and consists the entrance lobby and restaurant, followed a shop, the pool area, a collection of bungalows and a 5 story main building. Behind the restaurant are still 2 other buildings with hotel rooms on two floors. At the hotel entrance is the home of Billy and Gracie, 2 charming sea lions. Breakfast is not included, there was no free internet in the lobby (almost standard in other hotels). Parking is free, since we had the 'luck' that time just returned a large free private parking area, there was fresh paved and marked it is a powerful crowded on the remaining parking on site (about 10 spots in front of the lobby) or was outside in a public lot (connected to a long walk). The bungalows had but everyone has a parking lot on your doorstep. The garden area made a clean impression and the hotel seems a venue for weddings, conferences and other events to be very popular. The banquet facilities for guests "excellent" located on the whole 5. Floor of the main building, where the lower 4 as I said, the standard room.
Location
To get to downtown San Diego is about a fifteen minutes drive off of the interstate and traveling, as well as restaurants and supermarkets are comfortable (5 min drive to the Sportboulevard) only with a vehicle. Excursion possibilities there were so many in San Diego (zoo, Gaslamp Quarter, Old Town, the aircraft carrier USS Midway 41 along the harbor or wonderful Coronado Island) but nothing is within walking distance. We couldn't bus or other transport discover, are only hotels in the immediate vicinity.
We were greeted by friendly receptionists and were able to upgrade to a studio with 2 pm check-in in the main building. On lack of tea bags at the coffee machine, but were attentive promptly delivered by the housekeeping a few copies. The 2 . Day we were told that we with noise for an event at the upper banquet facilities, but as we had to expect 3. Floor, so one floor nor between, we weren't worried about. The room cleaning was immaculate.

Sport & Entertainment
The pool with generous hot tub looked extremely attractive and well cared for. The umbrellas, beach chairs and towels were sufficiently available. Behind the lobby is still a small private beach with cozy covered double.
Room
Our room (#658 ) in the 3 . Floor of the main building was very spacious, actually matched more like a studio, as there was a sofa, a small fully equipped kitchen and a dining table with 2 chairs in addition to 2 queen-size beds could call our own. As breakfast not included, we were ideal self catering, there is even a stove and freezer in the fridge. Eating utensils you will be in the closet. On the balcony you can just relax in a rocking chair. The bathroom was a bit small, a makeup mirror is located in front of the house keeping 2x. The condition of the furniture might not be the newest, but made the interior a clean and well-kept impression. Not stains nor holes were to find. Only the Loudness of the rooms made us to create. The ear plugs had to both nights there used once because one of annoying neighbor of the balcony door in the middle of the night and had to constantly on and to push the great wedding 2 floors (! ) above us.
Tips and recommendations
San Diego is a great city and has more than 2 nights. You can for 2 days and $35 per person from Old Town (free parking! ) The trolley and climb the hop on hop off-tour all around town (also Coronado Island) gaze. A little harsh Zoo-visit is for $37 and 20 minutes away by car or bus manageable. For the Shoppingsüchtigen we recommend the wonderful Las Americas easy drive, 30 km from the hotel and right next to the Mexican border. But definitely go back in the morning as afternoons because of the commuters an incredible traffic on the highway direction Mexico developed.
