Sunny days at the sea *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AHotel is beautifully located on a rock ledge. The view is unobstructed and directly at the steep wall of Los Gigantes and over the sea to Gomera. The rooms to the west side have the a sunny view from the late morning to sunset in direction of La Palma. Half board. We arrived in the hotel around 9pm. Dinner was available until 10pm. All meals were still available! All the rooms have a balcony resp. a terrace. Pleasant multicultural atmosphere: There were English, French, Czechs, Spaniard, Dutch, Germans, young and old. Most booked all-inclusive and had blue armbands. The half board guests were mostly off campus hiking or discovering the island. In the evening the entertainment program was partly heard in the rooms - depending on wind direction and the roaring of the ocean.
Location
Trips are best done with a rental. . The journey is a long trips over the mountains. The busstation for all directions is 10min away from the hotel. The Masca valley is not very far away and a hike through there is easily organized on your own accord. There are many boat trips available from the port of Los Gigantes The supermarket is opposite the hotel.
We arrived on Friday night at 9pm. At the reception; Kerstin: blonde, nice and competent. Fast check-in including a glass of bubbly. Our luggage was brought to our rooms. The staff is permanently friendly, even when under a lot of stress i.e. in the restaurant. With patience each day you may find nice seats in the restaurant after all. Free table selection! Room service daily, thorough cleaning - everything very clean!
Gastronomy
Daily tasty meals. Salad bar, warm buffet with different meat and/or fish foods. Additionally there are main dishes prepared on the
grilled and/or roasted. Noodle bar with all sorts of pasta. In the evening there was a cheese platter and sweet delights with a lot of calories. Costs for bottled wine
starting at 8 euro; beer 2,30. Also very good were the themed evenings like Mexican, Spanish, etc.
Sport & Entertainment
We only went to the two larger pools which were beautifully located. When swimming in them you had a view of the sea or the cliffs of Los Gigantes.
Room
Marvelous view on the sea from the terrace. Housekeeping occurred daily. Good equipment. .
Tips and recommendations
Teneriffa south - The area of Los Gigantes apparently has a good weather guarantee. Partly windy, then somewhat refreshing. Definitely book a room on the sea side.
