Hotel Be Live Grand Punta Cana

The staff was friendly but persistent. The moment you get there they are trying to show you around and sell you other things. There's vendors everywhere, everyday at any given time bothering you, harassing you to try and buy whatever they were selling. It was so unprofessional of the hotel. Even on the beach there girls selling things not realizing that your on vacation. The main pool was always full and I went in once and it was terribly filthy on the bottom. The back pool (where me and my husband frequently swam) was also dirty. There was only a handful of spaces to swim where you didn't have to worry about the dirt or bugs at the bottom of the pool. The beach was in walking distance of our room and the pool. All you had to do was walk a couple of steps and you were there. But the water was not as clean as I had hoped. You could barely see through it like the beaches in Miami. The drinks were horrible! They were watered down so much it would feel like you were literally drinking water and sugar. Unless you asked for straight rum you would never feel a buzz. And yet they still gave you a tiny bit of it. I figured thats why they give you all the drinks you can dream of because they were hardly drinks at all. The water was weird the soda was flat. It was a nightmare. We went to a nearby store located right on the resort to buy some souvenirs and 2 bottles of Brugal (Dominican Rum very popular) and the seller was quite rude and perverted. We realized in the end that he sold us the bottle for 20$ each and in the airport you can buy it for about 3$ (due to the currency). But he made it seem as if he was making us the deal of a lifetime.

The staff barely spoke english which was fine because I spoke spanish but once they found out I spoke spanish they tried to swindle me with trying to bribe me to buy expensive cigars and take tours. The cleaning lady came once a day and handed us fresh towels and we honestly trusted her with our belongings.

The restaurants surrounding were generally small. We never went because they charged you more money for them and you had to make reservations by a certain time. The dining areas were generally clean.

We never did any sports or other activities because it was raining the whole time but also because whenever we walked by the vendors would try and sell us a package deal and we would just walk away and they gave us attitudes.

The room was the only great part about it minus the roaches.

The weather was terrible. it was cloudy everyday and only for about an hour the sun would come out and then a rainstorm would come down. Of course the day we left the sky was clear blue and sunny. I must say the scenery depicted here is nice and it kind of resembles how it really looks but that's the only thing they have going for them. The staff looks at you like you owe them money whenever they get you something. The room service is not free and its terrible. The price I paid was honestly a waste and I would never go back. I don't recommend this "resort" or lack there of to anybody, unless you just like to look at the place. My mother traveled shortly after me and she found a resort that is way cheaper, excellent food and service and no vendors trying to sell you anything at all.
