Tours/taxi/bus:
The offers of the travel agent are very expensive. Better and cheaper you can see the island with a private driver. It is not difficult to find one. As soon as you leave the hotel just wait for her behind the hotel gate. There is a price list for the objectives. The prices are about 200-300 rupees to be reduced. The driver from the neighboring Hotel Meridien are friendly and cheaper. We went on two excursions with Shivam (number: 509, white Nissan) from the Meridien Hotel. We can recommend it. It was on time, friendly, speak good English. Excursions are freely selectable/revelation. The taxi drivers are all allocated a fixed location, that means the driver in front of the Victoria is always the same le, just in front of the Meridien. A full day trip in the South-West (Chamaral-waterfall!, Coulered Earth, Grand Bassin) costs about 2700 rupees per taxi (= 1-4 people), a taxi ride to Port Louis 1200 rupees (and back, the driver waited there, no matter how long you need).
With the bus (number 20 or 20a) is easy to Port Louis. It costs only 29 rupees easy and takes about 45 minutes. Stop at the bus station-very close to the market and the waterfront Caudan. The bus runs every 20-25 minutes. The ticket you buy the bus conductor (there was always a porter and a driver). The next stop is ten minutes walk away. The concierge at the hotel turns to get in (to the main road, right, a blue building with the Werbeschriftzug 'force') backward at the bus station or the bus 20 20a to ' take Pointe aux piments. (Triolet bus service means the Busfirma and red-white buses-this company the routes in the North. There are many other Busfirmen in all the colors to the bus station). The bus is easy, interesting and cheap-but it took somewhat. With the taxi in about 20 minutes you are in Port Louis.
Late check-out: the rooms are up to twelve hours rooms, for 3000 rupees there is a late check-out. On request we were offered a complimentary late check-out. Great!
Prices for drinks in the hotel are for all inclusive guests very expensive: water (1 l) or coke/Fanta (0.25 L) 85 rupees each. In the supermarket outside the same bottle of water cost 16-20 Rupees.
Supermarket: about 5 minutes walk, next to the Meridien Hotel, says Max-shop: offers drinks, souvenirs, postcards and stamps, currency exchange, ...) Open until 19 hours. In front of the Max shop there is also a telephone booth, calling card for 115 rupees in the store to purchase-is 3 for about ten minutes.
In Pointe aux piments there are more shops and supermarkets (but not many-but the prices were similar to the max-shop, so that the towing not worth it.
Exchange rate:
The hotel: 1 €= 36.75 Rupees
Max-shop: 1 €= 38 Rupees
The airport: 1 €= 38.11 Rupees
In Port Louis: 1 €= 38.75 Rupees
Only in the hotel do not change!
Drive from the airport to the hotel: 60-70 minutes, the airport very small
Guests at the hotel: very many families with children, very interntaional (German, French, Indian, ...)
Internet cafe in Port Louis: on the waterfront (near post office): 1 hour-98 Rupees
Breakfast: 7-10 hours
Lunch: 12-15 hours
Dinner: 19-22 hours
Varied and good food
Towels were changed in the morning and in the evening
Tv: there was the ZDF
WIFI in the rooms
