Nice, cozy and friendly

My family and I (total 3 adults and 2 pre-teens) stayed for a few days starting on Christmas Day 2010. The hotel is within a short walking distance of the Interlaken West station. The staff (Urich and Oliver) were friendly and knowledgeable, speaking German, English and French. Breakfast was a wonderful spread with great variety of meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, eggs, yogurt and dried fruits - even the kids found food they liked. I would definitely consider going again and would recommend the hotel to all. I noticed that some took offense to train noise, but, honestly, we didn't notice any train noise (and we live in a rural suburban area of the US). The location on the river and our balcony views (we had 2 connecting rooms) were great (even though we could not take full advantage of them in the cold snowy weather).
