A walking week in Wengen

Location
Location is good for walking and Jungfrau/Manlichen/Lauterbrunnen excursions.
Efficient and friendly staff speaking several languages (excellent english). A small library of books plus newspapers in several languages.
Gastronomy
Half-board is very good value. A clean set table per room with good quality Buffet breakfast and evening meal. Choices of three main courses including vegetarian varied every day.
Sport & Entertainment
We had our own walking itinerary which staff were able to augment with local relevant detail.
Room
We booked an upper floor room with Jungfrau view and although the decor was a little tired, the room was clean & comfortable with a tremendous view over the village to the mountains.
Tips and recommendations
In early June some cable cars may not be operating due to maintenance work after the winter season.
