Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AFor an economy Summer break Bernerhof has been adequate for us to return for seven summers.
Location
Excellent location - to cable cars; rail station with reliable links to connection transport.
Management have been very good. Some of the waiters are learning the job and can be reticient. However they have responded well if challenged.
Gastronomy
Breakfast has been ideal (uncooked but we didn't want that). Evening meals can be unimaginative and could be improved by adding more Swiss. Availability of Fondue and Raclette EVERY night; Pizzeria several nights a week and a Sunday evening barbecue usually mean a substantial amount of acceptable food is available.

Room
Residence building is adequate for this budget. In the main building bath/shower rooms are very small.
Tips and recommendations
If unhappy about aspects it pays to talk to staff. They don't always see a problem but do respond well when challenged. It is not a five star hotel but entirely adequate for a lower priced break.
