Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThis hotel looking at it from the outside needs a lick of paint and some areas within the complex needed attention but the hotel was exceptionally clean.
We stayed all-inclusive but some guests took the half board option. As it was the height of the school holiday the hotel was full. The hotel had an eclectic mix of nationalities and ages ranged from 3 months-ish to 80+
Location
The hotel is about 25 mins from the airport and 400 metres from the beach.
It is ideally set in Playa de las Americas right behind the hotel is the Safari shopping complex well worth a look.
You will also find the "Santiago" shopping area.
There are lots of bars near the hotel.
The free bus to siam park is right outside the hotel.
From the moment we checked in the staff could not have been more helpful.
We travelled with my parents and their air conditioning was not working but within an hour somebody had got it working again.
The staff are multi-lingual and had very good english.
The maids were exceptional our room was kept very clean- not easy when there is 3 of you in the room. Our daughter was impressed as some times the maid made the bed look pretty or folded her sleep wear all nice.
We didn't use any of the services available at the hotel but a couple of times a week there was a english suncare advisor on hand with advice as it was very sunny and hot 36c
Gastronomy
There is one main restaurant, one restaurant for continental brekkie a pool bar which served food and a piano bar.
The food areas we kept clean our dirty plates were cleared from our table quickly.
They had a mix of cuisines from chips pizzas to local canarian potatoes we certainly never went hungry.
The atmosphere was good you didn't need to tip individuals but there was a jar on the way out if you wanted to put some in.
Being AI we didnt need to buy food but the prices charged were no different to the prices found outside the complex.
Drinks were good real Pepsi and San miguel in bottles
Sport & Entertainment
The hotel had a mini club for children twice a day. There was entertainment every evening though we liked going out for a walk and only saw a couple of shows, there was free wi-fi and internet access for 1 euro for 10 mins.
Within the hotel there is a little shop for papers mags and gifts.
There are 3 pools in total, 1 for babies, 1 shallow pool and one which had a maximum depth of 1.40m. There are also 2 hot tubs, a squash court, sauna and gym. For an extra charge you could indulge in a massage!
There was the old problem with the sunbeds having said that we were told that there were 1050 people staying at the hotel so providing everyone with a sunbed was hard to achieve.
Pool towels were also provided in your room
Room
Our room had 2 double beds which would of been ample for a 2+2 family.
We had a balcony with drying rail and a table and 2 chairs.
We had a tv though the only programmes in english were BBC world news and Sky news nothing for children. Spanish deal or no deal was interesting
There was a telephone, a fridge, safe & air-con.
The bathroom was spacious and clean with bath and shower and a hairdryer, though this was a throw back to the 70's and not very good.
The hotel supplied bath cream, showergel, soap and shampoo.
Tips and recommendations
They say men should wear long trousers at evening meal but they seemed to have relaxed this as it was hot other times of the year as long as they came below knees and you didn't wear vests you were ok.
Tenerife is warm all year round we have been several times before at different times of the year and found this was the hottest.
