Dilapidated facility, 6 Germans out of 290 Guests *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AIn the first week of our holiday there were 17 Germans in the hotel, and in the second week there were around 6. We never saw the others. A very lonely holiday.
In the past, the hotel area must have been very nice, but since the opening only a few essential things have been renovated.
The crumbling walls have been painted over, so that the condition can't immediately be seen.
The room looked very used, old furniture, like bulky waste, crooked mirrors, towels like rags (rips and holes). The electrical conditions should be against regulation: loose plugs, partially covered switches (my daughter received an electrical shock). Dirty.
The beach itself was clean, but there was liter in the water and wasn't inviting. A lot of algae. How different from the beaches to north.
Pool was ok. There were enough pool chairs and umbrellas, trees for shade.
The staff gave overall a lot of effort, but that couldn't compensate for the shortcomings.
Conclusion: The hotel is not recommendable. There are definately better hotels in Tunisia with nicer beaches for the same price.
Location
There was hardly any shopping in the area. The next place was 3-4 km away.
For Tunisia, the beach was poor.
Positive: When you complained about something by the reception, someone came to fix it within 30 minutes. We had: no TV when we checked into the room, then the air conditioning didn't work and a faulty toilet seat.
Many staff members could speak English or German, other languages were spoken very well by the reception.
Room cleaning: only the floor. The sinks, shower, and other areas stayed dirty if we didn't clean it ourselves. The tip for the cleaning woman was for the cat. Or did she even clean the floor after that?
Gastronomy
Food: For me it was ok. For the main meals, there were always two grill items (fish and meat) and two other foods, made to order. Pizza, potatoes, fries, rice, 2 types of pasta, and always bread and rolls. Besides that there were 2 sides and 3-4 other choices to choose from, they varied. Also 5-6 prepared salads. You could also make your own salad from different ingredients. For dessert, there were different cakes and pastries, ice creams and fruit (grapes, dates, melon, pear, peach). There was more than enough to choose from. Even though there was a lot to choose from, they still varied the food choices.
Sport & Entertainment
There was water gymnastics offered and a noon game. In the afternoon, gymnastics or dance. Evenings there was a mini disco in an arena. If something was said, then in French or Italian. I didn't participate in the other offers.
Room
For us, it was very small, but we managed ok. The furniture was ugly, old fashioned, ready to be thrown away. TV was connected to the wall with a belt, so it wouldn't fall down. Telephone. Small balcony.
The bathroom was in very poor condition. The valves were 2 cm away from the wall, so you could see a big hole. The floor, walls, bath, mirror: everything seemed slovenly. The hair dryer was new. It was plugged into an outlet in the wall that was half broken. Rusted cables under the sinks (probably earthing). Looked scary. Also new: the shower curtain, but it made the rest of the delapitated bathroom stand out even more.
