Hotel Carlos III

directly at the seaside, hotel surrounding isn't too attractive and requires for a rental car which i had taken at barcelona airport
neighbouring villages saint carles de la rapita and les cases d'alcanar (both about 3-4 km) offer beautiful, well-kept and quiet beaches as well as all kinds of shops/supermarkets and a good selection of restaurants with great seafood
a huge cement plant in about 500 m distance didn't disturb at all - it was fun to watch ships arriving or leaving their pier and being unloaded/loaded

Young and friendly staff speaking some English, otherwise only Catalan/Spanish
Rooms were cleaned daily same as bedsheets/towels change

Breakfast buffet was somewhat poor, no changes in 2 weeks (2 types of jam, one type ham and sausage each, poor choice of juices, bread etc.
Had their menu dinner 3 times, varying quality - fish/seafood was o. k.
Hotel is more of a stopover place for local service and business ppl - so it was quite empty during the week - only on weekends it filled up with local families who spent the weekend at the seaside
Reasonable price with discount for long-time-stay

Pool terrace directly accessible from room, bar and restaurant asituated right at the seaside

room was clean and relatively new - simply but sufficiently furnished - tv only spanish - terrace in front with direct pool and ocean view

Free wireless internet available in public areas (lobby, bar, restaurant, terrace)
