Perfect service is not everything *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThis was our 20th trip to Italy, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the absolutely perfect service! Front desk, service in restaurant, pool and room service were immaculate. Always friendly, helpful, always we got tips. The location of the hotel is not as quiet as described; the rooms at the front of the house were very loud. Beautifully designed thermal mineral pool, the whole area was very neat and clean. During our stay, the hotel was almost fully booked, it was neither at the pool or on the rooftop full or loud. Very pleasant, if you wanted to lie in the sun! There were only Italian and German guests there, which we found very nice. The food in the hotel was in order for Italian standards, a great breakfast, a large selection of items. With half board you could daily choose whether you wanted to eat lunch or dinner at breakfast ( this was queried). The menu then consisted of (unfortunately always the same salad), soup or pasta, main dish and dessert after request ( ice cream, fruit). The fish dishes we really enjoyed: bream, sole or swordfish were a dream! The pasta starters, always with tomato sauce, have already been on 3 Day rather boring. The rooms are "local" equipped, with modern decor and air conditioning ( apparently brand new in the rooms), good windows, small Secretary and TV with three German programs quite good for a 3 star hotel. Only - and this is the large drawback: The bathroom is absolutely borderline. We visited four rooms ( so also from other guests) and the showers are simply a disgrace. The showers are a around 43 - 46 (!!! ) cm wide "piece of space" next to the toilet, with a dresser-large rust than drain in the middle of the tile and ( not very attractive looking, entirely unsainitary) shower curtain. All four rooms we saw, had the same bathroom, with an equally tiny shower possibility. There should have remedy! Other than that we loved our holiday - especially by the perfect all-round support of the hotel staff - very good; we will due on our next Ischia our opinion "underground" bathroom stay at another hotel.
