Hotel Catalonia Gran Dominicus / Venta Club Gran Dominicus

This was my 14. Vacation in the Dominican Republic, always stayed in different hotels. My opinion on this hotel: it is pretty much exactly the Dominican 4 star average. Average: check-in and check-out was quick and easy. Room quality. I had a superior room. Contrary to other reviews here the condition was quite normal Dominican average. Food quality and selection: it all tasted quite good; there is a large choice; a lot of it is a bit scanty seasoning. Hygiene was okay, or diseases of Durchfällen I nothing heard and I was also great. Cocktail-quality depending on the bar and bartender highly variable. A lot of stuff Holly, above all, when it was raining. Entertainment (the usual sports games), disco (a bit trousers and black, a lot of merengue, especially on the weekends, when the locals are there), evening shows (usual dance shows and clientele-participateShows). The hotel is in a beautiful garden embedded, were constantly gardeners to werkeln it. Guests mainly Canadians, Italian and French, about 10% German and a few Spanish and Russians. The hosts and staff all spoke more or less English, and some will also, if you use your few words in German (greetings to animator Allison, only a single German word 'could': 'panty hose') ☺ nearby the hotel is apart from other hotels, a few stalls selling beach and the small town dominicus nothing. Buffet-theme (Dominican, Italian, French, international, Mexican) are repeated every week. You should once a week in each specialty restaurants (Italian, Mexican, steakhouse), so every two weeks vacation six times. I enjoyed the steak house at the best; the others are, but not bad either. Runaway upward: creperie adjacent to the beach. Really good, freshly made, even with Nutella! Rooms are very large, about 30 square meters including I guess BadAm beach a lot of beach chairs. All in good condition and clean. Of space for beach chairs and shade is also sufficient available. The usual beach chairs reservers are also, but that didn't disturb really only at full occupancy of the hotel on Christmas Eve. Wireless Internet free of charge. Wine in the specialty restaurants was good Spanish bottles of red wine (in buffet restaurant only bags vinegar in bums luck-quality). No annoying beach traders and Timeshareverkäufer. Safe inclusive (code). Stunning sunsets (of course applies to all hotels in bayahibe). Runaway down: entertainment pretty much the same every day; there will not be any Spanish courses offered. In other hotels the animation offers one hour a day simple Spanish lessons-is funny and helpful. Three-quarters of the shore very rocky. Rooms are extremely noisy. Late sleepers should definitely take your earplugs. The rooms nearby the disco until 2:00 are also o'clock quiet. The rooms are often very small mini ants around it but it didn't bother us really. Mini bar is loud; I had to turn off it, in order to be able to sleep. Room safe was not bolted down... Wireless speed variable, mostly very slow. In the buffet restaurant was extremely quickly cleared away. If you just rises, is often still half full plates away the or even the table had already been cleared away and newly set. If you ordered something to drink, the waiters are not nearly as fast. No lobby/bar available, only a large main bar at the pool (at night in the disco bar).
