Hotel Christina

Location is the selling point. Right on the beach. Although the beach is gravelly and can be strewn with cigarette ends. The hotel does not provide sunbeds - this is an extra cost as is the air conditioning in the rooms. Approximately 45 minutes from the airport. A few shops nearby. The village is around 25 minutes walk away. No excursions provided.

Staff are friendly and knowledge of foreign languages good. Room cleaning excellent. Towels and sheets changed regularly. Complaints handled and dealt with well.

There is only one restaurant - day meals are usual Greek menus that seem to be offered at every restaurant. Evening meals can be provided but are not cheap and not particularly imaginative and ok if you like fish! Most guests walk to the village to the abundance of restaurants - Zak's being a particular favourite and a fabulous menu. There is a bar but most people tend to go to the village.

No sport, no pool, no entertainment. The beach and being near the sea is the attraction. Guests use the pools at other hotels. Sunbeds are an additional cost to bear in mind to your holiday.

Rooms a reasonable size. Basic furniture. Fridge in room with kettle. Telephone. No TV. Hairdryers on request. Airconditioning is another additional cost to add to the basic holiday price shown.

I have stayed at various times of the year in Corfu and would avoid September as it can be prone to thunderstorms and when it rains it rains!
