Hotel Clarion Park Avenue

The hotel is on Park Avenue only about 10 blocks from the Grand CENTERAL station and more importantly it is 2 blocks from the nearest subway station. As a base for sightseeing it's a good location.

The staff was nice and made an effort to meet our needs. The cleaning staff seemed rather than clean to make the beds and phone or watch TV in Oprah. We saw several days with your own eyes.

The booked trip included breakfast, which is unusual in New York. Breakfast was basic but good. There was a vending machine with coffee, cocoa, similar beverages, orange juice, milk. The food is between bagels and toasts (which each in Toastern roasted) and could be pre-packaged (ready-) croissants, cereal, yogurt and select as a supplement. On demand from the doorman fresh waffles. Than spreads were escapade-cheese, butter and jam. It was always refilled, so all of the always enough food for all guests were available. Unfortunately the breakfast room is small (only two 6 chairs, a table for 4 and 3 '2 ' tables), so that you often had to queue once in a while.

There is an internet room which you for 20c per minute! Internet access.

The room in which we arrived was very small. You had only a narrow course from the double bed can not come together, so that always a climb over the bed (the room of our fellow travellers was however lot bigger (but we had no Tageslichteinfall as 20 cm from the nearest house adjacent windows). We had bad luck and have a small room (but natural light and views of the inner courtyard with all the air conditioners and containers). There was however, a/c and a TV. The accords our clothes in the closet sadly we had noticed that there were still hairs from the blame. The carpet was not vacuumed, as it was full of lint and in the bathroom there were a few hairs. However, the bed was clean and looked newly changed. On check-out as always the same flaws were confirmed the impression that the cleaning staff rather than clean to make the beds and phone or watch TV in Oprah (although the bed was made).

I personally would not return to this hotel and instead spend a little more money and but get a clean room. However, if you're looking for a good base to explore with good breakfast the partly unclean standards and who doesn't bother you get a hotel in a good starting point for exploring the great city.
