Hotel Club

Only unbeatable argument for the hotel was its location. Around the corner was the main train station and the SITA Home base, for all, who wanted to travel through the country, and Florence's sights were
reached in the shortest time. But…

When I entered the hotel the porter then really wanted an additional payment for breakfast from me - I doubt I have to mention that I hadn't booked one! I refused and shifted everything to the next day. Afterwards he didn't come back again. Instead my room, which when I moved in was clean and tidy, even if in need of a renovation, wasn't cleaned anymore for a week!
Reception refused to greet in any way and left me with the idea that they might retain my luggage at the end. By the way: English for those who I communicated with really was a foreign language. Italian skills were more than helpful there...

As said, clean is written differently. It was also loud then or lets say relatively loud as it wasn't a room that was facing the road but instead the venitlation shaft - that was the problem then. The air conditioning ran the whole night. After two days of getting up in the night for the sightseeing program I usually slept through it though.
The shower resembled long ago believed days - no tub, no border to the rest of the bathroom, not even some kind of ridge. Half of the room got wet and the shower curtain got very near your body, because: the space was quite tight. To make up for the big room the money didn't seem to be enough for desperately needed square meters in the bathroom (or even for clothes hooks).
All in all a little old. If you expected a safe in the room and also wanted one, you should dream on at home. Only together with the rest of the tourists... Altough: The bed was good!
