Hotel Club Magic Life Penelope Beach Imperial

The walk to the beach is not long, normal strolling it takes about 10 minutes from the lobby. Transport from Houmt Souk airport takes half an hour. We did not visit the town or make excursions, so no information there. Magic Life has a few shops on the premises. My experience was that the souvenirshop was quite expensive.

All personnel is very friendly whether gardener, waiter or manager.
The woman who cleaned our bedroom (Zakia) always smiled and had a few words for us. The room was always very clean.

Every member of the personnel speaks at least French and mostly German and some English too.

The doctor has his own office on the premises. IF you get a prescription for medicine these will be delivered to the hotel for you.

At the reception all questions were answered and when our key did not work anymore, we received instantly a new one.

The different restaurants and bars serve everything a person needs to have a lovely holiday. You find a buffet restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served, and two a la carte restaurants. A snack around the world bar near the beach. In the restaurants you find large cotton napkins no paper. That's what makes the difference! A large variety of showcooking. The dinner buffet always with a different theme like Tunesian, Italian or international, with salads, entrees hot and cold, main dishes with a.o. fish, beef, turkey, dessert with sweet pastry, fresh fruit, cheese and icecream. Coffee and tea if you like.
The dishes meet everyone's taste, there are always signs explaining what you can eat.

The restaurant terrace outside is large. Inside, the restaurant is always decorated with the colours of the theme of the evening. Large banners and flags, it is very cosy because of the dimmed lights. We tipped our waiter, he is the best one ever. He has eye for the extra: when we ate shrimps, the moment we finished there was a bowl with hot water and lemon and an extra napkin for our hands. Now that is real service! Never an empty dish on the table. Be proud of such good personnel.

You find a poolbar, the tennisbar, the Mungobar and the Jazzbar near the central building where the lobby is. Near the beach is a bar at the slides and one at the beach. In every bar you can get bottles of water. One tip for the management: put up signs in the bars that no alcohol is served to youngsters under 18!

At the beach there are many sports. Bananariding, water skiing, surfing. You can get your cat sailcertificate at extra cost.

The disco is on the side near the wellness center. The hairdresser and the gym is in there too, also the indoor pool and the relaxpool.
In the lobby and on the terrace you can use your laptop with the free fast internet. If you do not bring your own, there are 2 computers you can use in the internetbar next to the Mungobar.

If your children like to join the group, the entertainment group will keep them busy! Kids from 4 up to teenager, all day there is a lot of fun together.
For the adults, there is a large variety of sports you can choose from. Check the table on the terrace near the pool.

The beach is very clean, if there are weeds on the waterfront this will be taken away as soon as possible. I have never seen such clean toilets on a beach. They are cleaned every half an hour. The showers are cleaned all day long, no sand and dirt there.
Sunbeds under umbrellas with matresses are comfortable. Only one little minus, the sun is most of the day behind you if you want to face the water, so you have to turn the bed around. The beach is quite full with sunbeds, I can imagine that this brings some annoyance.

The basic room we had was not large. In fact there was a little too much furniture in it. We rearranged the table to be able to walk through the room in the night without falling over it. The bed was in our opinion too hard.
In the bathroom what I missed was a box of tissues.

But we had a minibar filled with Cola, Fanta and water with and without gas.
Everyday clean glasses. If you want there is a laundry service at additional cost. We did not use it. A beautiful flatscreen tv with 19 or 20 channels, wow! In the bathroom a good hairdryer, a glass showerscreen (thank you for no curtain) and soap and shampoo on the house. The safe is perfect, but not large enough for a small laptop or notebook. Every room has individual airco, which works only when the key to the room is inserted to get electricity.
The building is kept clean, you have a lift at your disposal. Maximum of 2 floors.

Your mobile phone has very good access to the network, we had perfect reception everywhere in the club. We visited ML in October, a lovely time to be in Djerba. Not hot, but still very nice in temperature. At night you need a sweater or a jacket when you want to eat out on the terrace. Occasinally it will rain a little, but o.k. there is so much to do in the club you will still have a fine holiday.

Magic Life is, considering all sports/food/drink in the all inclusive package great value for your money. We will be back.
