Hotel Club Marmara Marina Beach

Gouves is about 20 min away from the airport. Marina Beach is located directly on the approaching path, but it is not disturbing. To get to the hotel beach, one only has to cross a hardly traveled street and one is already there. The souvenir shops and taverns are also not too far away. One can rent a car on every corner. Or one can simply take the bus every half an hour. Once we went to Heraklion with the bus, where one can do a lot of shopping.

Service was ok. Rooms cleaned daily. Always fresh towels available, beds made fresh every three days. Doctor on the spot a few hours every day. The personnel were friendly and could speak German. Different excursions offered (naturally costs extra). Very recommendable. Tour guidance in German, one learns a lot about the country.

We had the all-inclusive, so we could always get something to drink, cake and ice cream at noon. Not all drinks are included. If one has specific wishes one has to pay extra. The food was delicious. Italian dishes always available, otherwise it varied. Morning, noon and evening buffet, something for everyone. A Barbeque with Greek music took place at the pool every Thursday evening. (20€ p. p)

Animation program not so special. Above all because one did not understand it. Everything was in Italian or Greek. During the evenings, there was always a theater piece and disco 3 times a week. One was able to get cost-free deck chairs and parasols at the beach. Here the hotel was completely booked, therefore we had to hurry to get a place to lie down. Water is very clean and warm (26°C). Sport activities, Tennis court, mini golf, fitness room, at the beach (for example paddle boat, jet skis) a playground available for children.

Our room was neat and adequate in size. Although we booked one with a land view but received one with a sea view. What else can one want. Beds were alright. The shower failed to meet our wishes. One is used to something else at home. Not recommended to shower before supper during the early evening hours, as during this time others have the same idea, the consequence, tight on water.

It was a very beautiful, quiet and relaxing vacation. We are not disinclined to go there again.
