Courtyard Marriott Istanbul Airport - no thank you *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe chose this hotel because it apparently a outdoor pool (in accordance with HRS) - no chance ! The lobby is friendly stylish and very clean. At the hotel entrance you every time as at the airport "screened", a hotel guest ! The rooms were clean but we had on the 17th floor about every 2 minutes a plane flew the loudly about this hotel. The breakfast buffet is very marginal. There is not even freshly squeezed orange juice. We had breakfast on the terrace directly at the highway is! Also the glass they would employ were currently work, so we were "Fensterspülmittel" leaking! After we had approached the chef, he said, we should take a different square ! THE 2 . The glass they would employ day (in a Fensterputzlift) even in about 1m long Holzstiel may be, the right next to us were pulled back ! Nobody reacted ! The staff and if we could not confront, that we ate breakfast on the patio, we could not cutlery, coffee etc. No fruits such as banana etc. .. Had a superior room with mini bar included, as was daily 1 cola, fanta, 1 small bottle of water. ARD, ZDF (Neo) didn't work. Only at Pro7
Location
They have a shuttle service to the Sultanahmet district that we were not told, we 2 days later, after we already have spent 200 lira for taxi (city tourist pitches). A taxi costs approximately 55 lira into the city center (and not as advertised with HRS 6 km) the had the feeling there 50 km away and can be up to 60 minutes (during rush hour)
Breakfast staff bad, unfriendly, slow reception nice. Bar staff friendly and efficient.
Gastronomy
Food too expensive, also the drinks, restaurants in town to the half cheaper and better !
Sport & Entertainment
In accordance with HRS outdoor pool ?!? - NONE! Sauna, indoor pool, fitness center only visited looked ok.
Room
17th floor. Aircraft noise every 2 minutes, no windows to the cigarette butts ! Bathroom too small, shower wall too short, bathrooms after the wet after a shower. Rooms weren't cleaned thoroughly cleaned, we tested. The trash was still abgelegter point ..... That's says it all ...
Tips and recommendations
Not recommended! too far from the city center but close to the airport and fair grounds. We highly recommend small, intimate hotels in the city Sultanahmet ! Good food, clean rooms, right in the center of the town to bazaar, beach promenade, etc. to travel everywhere at the Marriott is, by all the action on this chain close, we know these hotels already from other countries and the is clearly the worst .....
