Hotel Dana Beach Resort

We were right on the beach and a short hop from the airport. There are some shops on site and a huge shopping mall opposite. We had an excellent trip out one day on a boat. We had 4 stops of an hour each for snorkelling. The trip included a very good lunch with soft drinks.

Staff in Dana Beach are excellent. Their command of English was great considering most of the guests were German. The rooms were cleaned daily with clean linen and towels. The towels particularly are huge and soft.

There are 5 restaurants on this resort and guests are free to eat as often as they like in each one - there is no need to book in advance. The quality of food was good and there was no shortage of drinks. No need to cue at bars as there was excellent waiter service. Local beer and red wine was good and plentiful and the choice of cocktails and spirits was great. There were numerous fridges around the resort stocking bottles of water and soft drink fountains for guests to help themselves to coke, fanta, sprite etc, all day.

The pool areas were fantastic. All sunbeds were substantial - with soft mattresses- and the vast majority of the pool and restaurant furniture is wooden - no plastic chairs at this resort. Pool towels are readily available with no deposit to pay. Never necessary to reserve sunbeds or umbrellas as these were plentiful. The animation team kept everyone entertained around one of the pools all day with lots for children and adults alike. The kids pool and play area was great for small children with water slides and fountains and a park with a multitude of activity toys.

Room size was great. Although there were only 2 of us we found ourselves in a 2 bedroom unit with a large clean shower and toilet. The minibar was stocked daily with water and soft drinks. Towels and bedlinen was changed daily.

We travelled at the end of September and the temperature was perfect. This was one of the best value for money holidays we have had.
