Don't miss out on this wonderful hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThis is a fabulous hotel with fantastic staff. I have been to many wonderful hotels around this area of Turkey and I have to say this rates as one of the best.
Firstly I would like to compliment the Manager on running a beautiful hotel with the nicest staff I have ever encountered and I am talking in every department.
The hotel stands out from the rest in Lara Beach. The location is good although there isn't much to do in the area, but this wasn't a problem for us as we went for a relaxing beach holiday. There are some shops round about selling the usual handbags etc. (Remember to bring euro as the "Turks" prefer to deal in this currency!!!)
The hotel is spotless, the food is plentiful, infact be prepared to gain a lot of weight. The a la carte restaurants are freely available and we never had a problem getting into any one of the 6 restaurants. The choice of food is really good and nobody could fault it as there is always something for everyone. Don't miss Turkish night as it's a great night.
The majority of guests were German, but again this wasn't a problem as we all mixed well and had great fun competing with them at boucha every morning and afternoon. The entertainment team made all these day time games so much fun, we really did have a great laugh.
We had 3 young children with us, age 18 months, 3 and 6 and every one of them had a ball. The funfair was opened for an hour a day at 3.30. The kiddy club was fantastic for the 3 and 6 year old and the disco at night was enjoyed by all three. Gumzie (and her other 2 helpers) are lovely, they really made a good holiday great for our children. Lewis and Cooper are missing you already Gumzie!!
The night entertainment is fun, it's not as professional as the Xanadu in Belek with their wonderful shows, but it was fun. The team are good and again we had a lot of laughs participating. If you don't want to take part in the family entertainment there is a bar upstair where you can listen/dance to a live band, again they provided a nice pleasant night.
The rooms are lovely and kept lovely too. They were cleaned daily and the fridge was stocked daily too. No need to take a kettle on this holiday as every room is supplied with one and if your a coffeeholic like me, this is a blessing. Okay the balconies aren't huge, but hey, they have a table and two chairs to enjoy the lovely seaview (if you pay for one).
We had no problem with a sunbed in any area of the hotel, they are plentiful on the beach, round the pool, round the relax pool, round the kiddy pool, round the slides there really are loads of bathing areas.
As you've already guessed, I don't really have any complaints about this hotel, but if I did have to make one, it would be the air conditioning in the rooms. It was either switched off or not working very well as most guests were saying they were sleeping with the patio doors open.
One more thing - it's been the cheapest late room charge we have encountered in Turkey. We got to keep our room until 10pm for a 45 euro charge. We have been charged as much as 90 euro to keep our room only until 6pm. I know it's a rip off in Turkey, but all the hotels do it.
I will definately return to Delphin Palace later in the year.
Thanks for a wonderful holiday Delphin Palace.
Location
Right on the beach, what more could you want!!!
Best Staff you'll ever meet, they all speak English too.
Rooms are lovely and spotless.
Guest Relations can't do enough for you, they even sent us a gift of fruit, wine and a beach bag for answering a few questions!
Gastronomy
Great amount of restaurants to choose from.
Food excellent.
Dining rooms spotless.
We tipped every night at the a la carte and for the buffet restaurant we tipped at the end of the holiday.
Sport & Entertainment
I think this was my favourite part of the hotel. The entertainment team are fabulous and really made our holiday (especially Erdram) who my Hubby and I had a lot of fun playing all the daft games with. Some folk call it childish, but hey, a holiday is what you make it.
The beach is kept nice at the hotel, but we did go for a walk further along the beach and it's not so nice.
Room
Everything you needed was provided.
Air con not the best though, I think they need to address this.
Tips and recommendations
We arrived for Easter (just got home today) and the weather was fantastic. Remember to take euro if you are shopping, strange but true!!! Take part in some of the surprise shows, you'll enjoy it!!!
