Very bad service - surprised this is a Sheraton
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AFrom the start the service was bad - we arrived at 2. 30pm to find that only one room of our two was available despite check in advertised as 2pm. No apology and they didn't bother to tell us when the other room was ready (we had to go down to reception to find out). Phoned in advance for twin bedded rooms - they were doubles and despite a request that the beds were separated this never happened. We'd booked quiet rooms with a park view and got noisy rooms over the front of the hotel - when we complained we got a shrug and were told that they didn't have these rooms available for all our stay. In one of the rooms the hanging space was only big enough for shirts! Again we just got a shrug when we complained.
The 'private beach' is not for the exclusive use of hotel guests - you have to pay to step foot on it. Prices in the hotel very expensive - a cup of coffee in a plastic cup that you get from the pool bar (self service) was 5 euros - the same from a cafe outside the hotel was 1. 30 euros!
One of the reasons we'd booked this hotel was a choice of dining - with young children we wanted a choice of more casual dining - when we arrived we discovered that only one restaurant (formal) was available in the evenings and that the 'Pagoda Lounge' advertised as offering pizzas etc wasn't open.
We'd booked for 11 nights but after a few nights we were all looking forward to going home. All in all very disappointing.
