Great holiday for the family *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is like a prefabricated building but renovated and immaculate. I agree it from the outside (is often faulted!!! ) Totally ok. The reception, bar (with billiards), etc. Are friendly and well equipped. The house is a three star and deservedly so. We are usually more like a 4 - 5 star vacationers and booked this only because we really wanted to Krk-city and a pool should be there ... We were not disappointed! Many German, Austrian, Polish and Italian guests. Many families with children, but also young couples and retirees - mixed. We had booked half board, I would not recommend (see gastronomy! )
Location
The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the city center; a beautiful short walk along the promenade and you are in the bustle of the city center - so cozy with old relatively quiet, but not off the beaten path - it was great! The hotel is directly at the sea. Between cliffs are small Betonplateaus. With a ladder to the sea, the immediately invited to go snorkeling; crystal clear water! In the other: I have read so much, that the tourists the ocean entrance fault!? Sometimes I wonder how these vacationers book before - I know but only Betonplateaus; why then complain about?! Croatia is not Italy!!!!
The staff were all very friendly. All spoke German relatively well and can understand everything. The room cleaning was only so sporadically (garbage disposal, towels, beds make "view" into the bathroom)
Gastronomy
The dining room is optically perfect; the hygiene ok as well. The food was not our cup of tea. It was varied and plentiful but not Croatian (pseudo-roast pork and Hähnchenleber with mashed potatoes - such points I would like in Croatia not food). The food is well and didn't taste bad - we enjoyed at the occasional days that we ate there in the first place, but not. Breakfast was perfectly fine - everything you need ... of jams, nutella, etc. To cereal, fruit and yogurt, meats and cheeses to bacon and eggs.
Sport & Entertainment
The pool is nice and was clean (freshwater pool) with a water mushroom. In addition, there is a slide in an extra small pool. Entertainment was ok. - which means, it was a nice, varied program and the animation team were especially not pushy. I can't say anything about child care - our son was never went. Annoying is the beach chairs and umbrellas (also at the pool!!! ) cash cost! Next to the hotel is a mini golf course; in the shade under pine trees; condition but bad, but extremely cheap; being in the center of things also table tennis; next to two tennis courts (cost for tennis I don't know).
Room
There were 3 of us (son is 9 years old) in a 'normal' hotel rooms. The size was already quite short, but ok - one only sleeps inside ... The room was functionally furnished - the closet but a little tight for three. The bed was ok; the sleeping area for our son was a folding sleeping chair, the pretty tight (of the length and wide) was. TV with international channels, fridge and small balcony. The bathroom is a bit small. Hair dryer is available. Also plug. The room and especially the bathroom not sparkling clean. In some places you shouldn't look ... but we were in Croatia and not in Germany. If you want to German cleanliness, but just stay at home or 5 star ....
Tips and recommendations
Families with children, I would recommend a family room (Villa Lovorka/Tamaris or at the hotel). If you want to be from the food only full and don't get up for local dishes, you could book half board - all, the food from the sea, which would only book bed and breakfast and in the evenings at the stroll through town. established Krk is a lovely city and invites you for a stroll. Also, there is a nice town Baska with flair. In Baska is cheaper than in Krk-city, especially if you fish food ... If you want to take a day trip with a boat, should the on the Otak Roco. It is the smallest and oldest boat and has a special flair; not least because as not too many people driving.
