Fantastic family holiday
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ACannot rate Hotel Du Lac highly enough. We were a party of nine adults and two young children. Rooms were superb and the housekeeping staff could not do enough to accommodate us in relation to the children's comfort. All bedding was changed 3 times per week and general cleanliness of rooms was first class. We booked half board and standard and quantity of food again was excellent. Menus were varied and the one vegetarian in our party commented that it was the best standard of food she had ever had in a hotel. The head waiter and our table waitress were both extremely efficient and helpful.
Location
Bardolino is one of the loveliest resorts on Lake Garda and the lake paths are perfect for long walks (expecially with prams). Plenty of excursions to choose from but local shopping and weekly market is more than sufficient.
Service cannot be faulted. All staff, including housekeeping, restaurant and reception are all of the highest standard. Not forgetting maintenance staff who promptly fixed a puncture on the baby's pram.
Gastronomy
Loved all the different food available. Great choice each evening. Beautifully served, freshly cooked and piping hot. Cleanliness of resuaurant and appearance of staff first class.
Sport & Entertainment
Gym, steam room more than adequate for 2 week stay. Pool was also great for the children, especially on the few dull days.
Room
Good size room with balcony - partial lake view. Very quiet. Housekeeping staff provided an excellent service..
Tips and recommendations
Travelled this year in September. Temperature was perfect for children and for adults as we walked for miles with prams. Had a couple of dull damp days but this did not deter from the holiday. The hotel is most comfortable with a lovely terrace.
